6/10 VE “And in my winter mind the muffling snow…”

As a print from a Variable Edition, this piece is unique.  Based on the collagraphed face (the face of the artist) as are all prints in this series, with frenetic drypoint lines where hair might be expected, spirals and more colour have been added to this print.  The series uses the face to work through a variety of emotions that may be encountered throughout a day in the life of anyone.  The series also refers to the aging process and the fears and anxieties related to getting old in our society.  So the series can be seen as "a day in the life" and/or a life at the end of the day.  As the series progresses the images become gradually visually lighter and more excited then gradually fade back as the day (life?) comes to an end.  The emotions seem to culminate in this party like view with bubbles (or maybe fireworks?)  bursting around the person who laughs in delight. Something is being celebrated - we are left to wonder - what?
