This is part of a Variable Edition of 10.  Each print in the edition is unique with elements added or subtracted from the common  segment.  This print series is developed from a print made for an exhibition in Holguin, Cuba.  The print uses collagraph, drypoint and chine collé to create a sense of mystery and subdued tension.  The exhibition was titled "My Country is Winter" and in the paired prints created for the show the artist wanted to suggest the effects of aging, the fears and worries caused by entering the "winter" of one's life.  In the Variable Edition, emotions in the prints range from fear, anxiety and depression to joy, pleasure and amusement - a more complete picture of life's winter stage.
