The Colours of Music – Intermezzo

Working in encaustic I started to experiment with adding oil paint to the images using oil sticks.  I loved the colours and decided to try working in oils with abstract images.  The first work I did was a series of studies called The Colours of Music with each piece representing a musical form or term.  The studies often have different media as a base - acrylic, paper, sand and so on depending on the sound, song or composition being represented.  The intent is to use these as a basis for larger abstract works on canvas.
