The Colours of Music – Largo Penduloso

From the series of 8 abstract studies representing various aspects of music. Music is patterns of melody, rhythm, harmony, and timing as painting is patterns of shape, colour, texture and lines to express emotions and ideas.  Largo as a musical term generally means slow, dignified - to be played with a sense of grandeur and deep feeling.  The heavy red loop at the bottom is intended to represent that slow, pendulous movement while the deep blues and reds reflect the intense feeling associated with the sounds.
