The Transforming Breath 1/6 VE

This is a unique print, the first of six in a variable edition.  In hand-pulled printmaking a variable edition means that while some elements of the entire edition are the same, each print has something different, making it one-of a-kind, an original artwork.  This is a combination of woodcut, collagraph (the feathers) and embossing, the birdman image - see the detail below.

The woman exhales and as she exhales she breathes life into an image of flight, freedom, strength and passion (red feathers).  Her breath empowers and connects to the worlds of the cosmos conferring the powers necessary for a successful passage through life.
